Scholarship is the lifeblood of our athletics' programs. While a few of our programs are fully-funded scholarship-wise per NCAA DII bylaws, we are short about 10 equivalencies (full scholarships) as a department as a whole. However, we do have room with EVERY one of our programs to provide more dollars to our programs to recruit and retain the best student-athletes we can to be competitive at this level because of how our scholarships are built structurally. We've started this endowment fund as a mechanism for two purposes: in the near term to provide supplemental dollars to specific situations when a coach has an opportunity to capture a recruit that they can't on their own because of timing, original budget, or other circumstances; in the long run, we plan on this fund closing that 10-scholarship gap in our department so that ALL of our programs are operating at full capacity within the regulations of NCAA DII athletics to help us compete at the national level!
