Hello, Bearcat Soccer Fans!
This year, Northwest Missouri State University Athletics will once again host the Bleed Green Day of Giving, and the Northwest Missouri State women’s soccer program is asking for your support.
Last year’s campaign provided an incredible opportunity for our team. Through the generosity of Bearcat supporters, we were able to strengthen our program and enhance the student-athlete experience. We are hopeful that, with your help, we can build on that success again this year.
Our goal for this year’s campaign is to update the technology used during practices and matches to monitor our players’ health, fitness, and workload. For more than six years, our current GPS and heart-monitoring units have served the program exceptionally well. This technology has helped our staff create a safer and more impactful training environment by allowing us to evaluate:
- Player workloads and overall fitness levels
- Time spent in high-intensity heart-rate zones
- Sprint efforts and high-speed running
- The total distance each player covers during training and competition
- Individual workload trends to help guide training and recovery
Although these devices have been a tremendous asset to our program, the technology is now outdated, and many of the units are beginning to fail. To continue providing our student-athletes with the benefits of this monitoring system, we are seeking to raise approximately $22,000 to replace every unit, along with the necessary charging and data-docking equipment.
Previous giving efforts helped make this technology possible for our team, and we are incredibly grateful for the support that brought this resource to Northwest Missouri State women’s soccer.
