Multiculturalism

“The Office of Diversity and Inclusion advocates with and for marginalized students to develop a positive sense of self, to create strong community connections, and to thrive in all aspects of student life. The gifts to the Office of Diversity and Inclusion have been very beneficial in our mission. Donations have provided free haircuts to over 350 students of all genders and ethnicities.

Donations have also helped students who have been in severe financial trouble and helped students graduate from Northwest. This has encouraged them to give back to the same fund that helped them as students. Finally, donations have funded programming initiatives and allowed the Office of Diversity and Inclusion the opportunity to provide learning opportunities not only to our students and employees, but to the entire Maryville community.

Northwest has a strategic objective to enhance and foster an inclusive campus environment and donations have allowed our office to work towards that goal and see some great results in the process. From the Office of Diversity and Inclusion to you, I would like to say thank you to all our donors."

-Dr. Shay Malone, Assistant Vice President, Diversity & Inclusion
