Department of Mathematics and Statistics

According to Brian Haile, Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, the generosity of Northwest donors has allowed Mathematics and Statistics to:

  • Provide funding for students to attend and present at professional conferences in Kansas City, Columbia, New Orleans and Baltimore in the last year
  • Make available certain manipulatives, software, special books and other material to support the development our students in the classroom or aid some of graduates develop their own toolkit – in particular our Math Education graduates as they develop their own classroom
  • Plan and prepare for a competition and talks at a conference in Springfield during late March
